Who are we?

The Make A Difference (MAD) group aims to promote mental wellbeing across the community and challenge the stigma that exists towards mental illness.

All members of the group have an interest in mental wellbeing. Some have experienced mental health problems themselves, or have friends and relatives who have been unwell, others work in the field of mental wellbeing.

We work closely with the national campaign 'Time to Change' - England's biggest ever attempt to end the stigma and discrimination that faces people with mental health problems.  It is a campaign to change attitudes, and behaviour too. One in four of us will experience a mental health problem in our lifetime - and if we do, we are highly likely to face stigma and discrimination from others.

Why is Mental Wellbing Important?

1 in 4 people suffer from a mental health problem during their lifetime so the chances are good that you know someone who is struggling. MAD for Wellbeing encourages everyone to look after their mental health in the same way that you would look after your physical health.
